This is the day

This is the day

Good morning church! I hope that, like me, you are excited about this new day we’ve been given. We all have struggles and hardships in life, we each face distractions and temptations, but God has and will continue to walk with you every step of the way.  He will work through the Holy Spirit in your life and provide just what you need to keep running the spiritual race.   Today, that includes a whole new day to come together and worship!  Let’s join together to honor, magnify, praise and glorify our Lord as we teach and encourage one another.

1 Peter 1:3–7

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (ESV)

Praise the Lord; we have been given a new day. He has given us a living hope, an imperishable inheritance, an undefiled inheritance, and, just as importantly, an inheritance that never fades.

I’m sure you wouldn’t have to think too hard to come up with challenges and difficulties that you are facing, but they could not touch our great gift of salvation. No doubt, our struggles have affected us in many ways, but it couldn’t touch us in the ways that matter the most.

I say all of this to bring you to this vital truth: If you are a Christian, you have an all-powerful Lord actively involved in your life. No matter what you face, no matter what Satan throws at you (or you find to trip over all by yourself) you will not be defeated. Not even death holds power over us because Great is our Lord!

Let me encourage you to live each day with confidence, courage, and a firm conviction that – As long as you are on the Lord’s side, nothing and no one can defeat you. Give your worries and burdens to God. Get back to your life.  Do not allow fear to dictate how you live and respond. Live with faith in the One who rules over all things.

Striving alongside you for the prize,
Jay
