Kids Closet

img_0442The Kids Closet began in 2003 to help fulfill a need in the area for children’s good used clothing. As of 2011, more than 360 families have visited the Closet, with many families coming several times a year. The Closet accepts gently worn clothes for infants through 12th graders. Many Northeast members also watch for sales and buy new clothing to donate. Additionally, new socks and underwear are always needed.

Kids Closet is open the first Saturday of every month except January and July. In July, it is open the third Saturday instead of the first. Most months there is a need for four Northeast adults to greet families and help them find clothes, and one or two middle or high school students to entertain the children while they wait. Sign-up lists can be found on the hallway bulletin board.

All the families in the community who visit the Kids’ Closet express their gratitude for this outreach ministry.
